— Q & A TIME with the AUTHOR >
Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing J.K. Hogan, author of Unbreak Broken. Hi J.K, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your current book.
Hey, there! IRL I’m a pretty normal gal, wife and mother and fur-mommy. I stay at home with my son and alternate between writing and graphic design. I’m also currently carrying my second son.
I started out writing m/f paranormal romance—I have a series of three books if anyone is so inclined—but I started writing exclusively m/m in the last couple of years. I just have more fun doing it.
My new release, Unbreak Broken, is (probably) the conclusion to my Coming About series. It features Rory, everybody’s favorite cuddly straight guy, who ends up being not-so-straight, but not without a lot of heartache and…well, therapy. He gets paired with a sexy cop with a teenage daughter, and much drama ensues. Hope you enjoy!
Q) What is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about your writing?
A) Oh, man, that’s so hard… I’m just blown away anytime anyone has something nice to say. I guess I’ll go with “I’ve read everything you’ve ever written.” I have an m/f series as well as several m/m books, and a lot of fans don’t cross over, so that takes dedication!
Q) Are you a full-time or part-time writer? How does that impact your writing?
A) Mine’s a complicated situation. In financial terms, I’d have to say part-time, because if I was single and living alone, I wouldn’t be able to completely support myself without supplementing, mainly because I don’t write fast enough. However, since I’m a full-time mom, I do stay at home and have a lot of the perks a full-time writer has—like PJ’s to the office! I also do graphic design as well, so my days are very full. More…

Q&A with J.K. Hogan
Let’s start out by getting to know you. Tell us 4 things about yourself that are not in your bio.
Oh boy, I’m not sure I’m that interesting. Let’s see…
If it weren’t for my husband and kids, I’d probably be a full on hermit. I’m very much a homebody.
I’m a freelance graphic designer as well as an author. I’ve done a lot of work in marketing/branding, but I do book covers too!
I draw an m/m webcomic, though it’s on hiatus right now while my writing schedule is too full.
Despite my career focus in writing and digital art, I studied fiber art in college—this entails textile design, papermaking & bookbinding, sewing & clothing design, quilting, and my specialty was loom weaving. I know, it’s not a very common major but it was so much fun!
If you could go anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?
There are so many places… I’ve had the great luck to have traveled a lot for someone my age, but that only makes me want to go more places.
My top two places are Bora Bora (warm weather places aren’t my favorite, but I’ve always wanted to stay in one of those grass huts that stand out in the water), and Ireland (the land of my people). I’ve already been lucky enough to go to Scotland, the land of my husband’s people. 😉 More…
